No Mandalika MotoGP COVID-19 Cluster Emerges: Government

The Government of Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia, stated that the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia which took place at the Mandalika Circuit would continue to apply health protocols so that no COVID-19 clusters would appear.

"Thank God, no new cases of COVID-19 have been found," said the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Central Lombok Regency, Lalu Firman Wijaya, in Praya, Central Lombok, Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

He said all spectators had to be fully vaccinated and wear masks. "So far, there has been no information on the presence of a COVID-19 cluster found in the MotoGP Indonesia 2022," he said.

Based on temporary data, vaccination achievement in Central Lombok has reached the target that has been set. Dose one has reached 92.51 percent or 710,203 doses. Meanwhile, the second dose of vaccination reached 80.22 percent or 618,840 doses.

"Three doses of 2.35 percent or 18,709 doses," he said.

Meanwhile, no positive cases of COVID-19 in Central Lombok are currently isolated or zero, after previously COVID-19 cases increased dramatically to reach 251 patients. "Our positive cases of COVID-19 are gone or zero," he said.

But he still appeals to the public to maintain these conditions by continuing the COVID-19 health protocol by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands. "Even though there are no cases, we must apply health protocols," he said.
